I’m João, a brand & product designer, creative director, and aspirant golf player based in the sunny city ✹ of Lisbon, Portugal.

I’m responsible for leading the brand & product disciplines at Nagarro, and I believe that enjoyable, honest, and meaningful design is the foundation of building remarkable experiences and interfaces. 

During my path, I learned to wear different hats, from execution to illusion. My strong abilities encompass four essential variants: elevating the design discipline within corporations by leading by example in the field, delivering effective strategies, designing beautiful and useful brands and products, and building amazing design teams.

I’m a creative lead with 15+ years of experience crafting design solutions across various industries, including Automotive, Aviation, Telco, and Finance, and multiple clients such as Universal, Verizon, Star Alliance, ADT, Emirates NBD, MLS, Microsoft, and Hilton.

Before Nagarro, I helped build a unicorn tech company, Talkdesk, and worked for different agencies and consultancies, such as BBDO.

  • Regardless of the challenge or interface, designers are problem solvers, and human-centered methodologies have proven to be the best mechanism for crafting products, services, and experiences people love.

  • Nothing is more powerful and engaging than a well-structured and original story — each brand has its "fairytale," evoking fulfillment, personal growth, success, and emotional support.

  • Designing with simplicity in mind and focusing on the essentials allows us to create brands, products, and experiences that stick to people’s minds and age well, like the Porto wine :)

  • Innovation is not only about business objectives and technical capabilities; it’s mainly about people, their needs, values, and vision. It’s crucial to engage with real people to move markets, transform businesses, and disrupt industries.

I’m a wannabe golf player, football fan, and tennis ex-player.

My favorite thing in life is to travel and spend time with family.

I’m a T-shape designer with main capabilities in Creative Direction, UX + UI Design, and Product Design.

I hold an MA in Contemporary Typography from the London College of Communication and a BA in Communication Design from Lisbon University.

I have 3 pets: Betty, our Yorky, and two cat sisters, Maia and Flor.

Since I was a kid, I spent my days in the street — playing football, running, and especially sketching. I grew up with a passion for the craft, and it was mind-blowing when I got in touch with the ZX spectrum. Invest in a future in arts and digital, why not?

For the last seven years, I’ve worked at Nagarro — a global company delivering digital product engineering and technology services for leaders and challengers. 


My work is driven by my admiration for minimalism and modernism, with an intense usage of geometry, systems, grids, modularity, and grotesk typographic language.

I live with my wife and 7-year-old son in Lisbon, Portugal, the most Occidental country in Europe.

I believe trust, positivity, and ownership are the main drivers to building a successful, world-class team.

I have a fall on Architecture and love to do house renovations.

I aim to raise the bar by bringing fresh thinking and pushing teams to go infinite and beyond.

My studio is 5 minutes away from my home.

I’m currently the Creative Director at Nagarro Design Studio. I’m responsible for setting the creative vision for Nagarro’s brand, expanding the team, and engaging with and working on clients’ projects.

My favorite movie is probably Goodfellas, and my favorite series is Peaky Blinders.
